The shoes get me...
I just think about those little feet that are going to wear them. I washed the shoe donations and set them in the driveway to dry. It's fun to get things ready to go. Seeing all the friends who stop by to drop off donations. Our front hallway turns into a crowded mess of donations. Sorting the little baby clothing. Buying the books and crafts. Some fun things we bought that are new to this mission (for us) is 120 glow bracelets and a bubble blowing machine with grape scented bubbles! A friend who teaches Spanish brought over 30 Spanish coloring books for us to take. The kids and I went shopping for Spanish children's books and we filled a suitcase with our finds. Kendall came downstairs with two of her birthday presents to donate. That was touching for me. She said, "It's a better gift for me to give these things to the kids." And then Eric, not to be outdone by sister, ran up and emptied his piggy bank and gave me 23 cents to give to the kids.
So, the suitcases are filled and taken over to John's to be put in the van... tomorrow is the day! Praise God!
